Bandits Hold Saints Scoreless in Teddy Bear Game

Spruce Grove, Alberta – The Brooks Bandits defeated the Spruce Grove Saints 3-0 at the Thompson Family Arena Friday night. Isaac Johnson posted his third hat trick of the season, all three coming on the road (Sherwood Park, Vernon, Spruce Grove).

The first period was scoreless, but there were plenty of chances. Mark Konstantinov took Adam Perron down on a breakaway to award him a penalty shot, but it ended up being a good penalty. Zach Zahara made one of his 36 stops of the game and rejected his backhand.

The second period saw Isaac Johnson break the ice at 8:01 off a sweet delivery from Dmitrijs Dilveka. That was all the goal scoring in the second period.

In the third period, Lazarus Ebanoidze made a deke at the blue line and fired a shot on net that was rebounded by Isaac Johnson and it found its way into the net at 12:44.

Isaac Johnson converted once more on an empty netter on Dilevka’s second point of the game. Harry Ahlberg also posted a multi-point effort.

Zach Zahara posted a 36 save shutout and stopped the Saints from scoring in their inaugural Teddy Bear Toss game.

The Bandits are right back in action tomorrow night for a rematch with the Saints. Puck drop will be at 6:00 MT.
