September 20, 2024 – The 2024-25 BCHL regular season kicks off tonight with 10 games and 20 of 21 teams in action.
The opening-night will see the Brooks Bandits visit the Okotoks Oilers for the first of a home and home weekend, with the rematch scheduled for Saturday in Brooks. Friday’s game is a 7:00 pm puck drop, with live play by play available on New Country 105.7 FM.
“We are excited to drop the puck tonight on the 63rd season of the BCHL,” said league Commissioner Steven Cocker.
“With our five Alberta teams fully integrated and a player pool that’s never been better, 2024-25 is sure to be one of our league’s best seasons yet.”
Other important dates this season include:
- Oct. 13-17: BCHL Showcase (Abbotsford & Chilliwack)
- Jan. 17-18: All-Star Weekend (Salmon Arm)
- Feb. 15-16: BCHL Road Show (location and teams TBA)
- March 30: Regular season ends

The BCHL will continue with its existing playoff structure with the first seed in each conference playing the eighth seed in the first round, the second playing the seventh seed, and so on.
Five teams will not make the playoffs – two from the Coastal and three from the Interior. The newly formed divisions are for geographical scheduling purposes and do not factor into the standings.
