Lalonde, Hicks, Beyer, Sawyer and McCall awarded BCHL Alberta Division honours

April 18, 2024 – A total of five Brooks Bandits were honoured Thursday as the BC Hockey League announced their Alberta Division All-Star and All-Rookie teams.

Forward Parker Lalonde (Aberdeen, SK) was named BCHL Alberta Division First-Team All-Star. The Merrimack commit tallied 80 points (30G 50A) in 65 games this season, and was named the Bandits Top All-Around Forward. He also set the Bandits record for Most Shorthanded goals in a season with seven.

Goaltender Johnny Hicks (Kamloops, BC) and defenceman Ethan Beyer (Centennial, CO) were named BCHL Alberta Division Second-Team All-Stars. Hicks started 40 games this season, winning 33 of them, in addition to winning the Bandits Most Game Stars Award. His seven shutouts tied a team record for most in a season. Beyer led the Bandits blueline in scoring with 49 points (7G 42A) in 62 games. The Arizona State commit was also named co-winner of the Bandits Fan Favourite Award.

Forward Logan Sawyer (Orangeville, ON) and defenceman Quinn McCall (St. John, IN) were named to the BCHL Alberta Division All-Rookie Team. Sawyer racked up 78 points (35G 43A) and was named the Bandits Top Rookie. The Providence commit is ranked 114th amongst North American skates on NHL Central Scouting Final Rankings. McCall led the Bandits blueline in goal scoring, tallying 39 points (11G 28A) in 62 games. The Holy Cross commit was also named the Top Defenceman at the U20 Super Challenge in Sweden.

The Rogers BCHL Playoffs are coming to Brooks this weekend, as the Bandits host the Okotoks Oilers for the Alberta Semifinal. Tickets are on sale for Game 1 (Friday, April 19th) and Game 2 (Saturday, April 20th), both are at 7:00 pm at the Centennial Regional Arena.
