Bandits Trade Krists Retenais and Brett Calhoon to Langley for Defenceman Tanner Winegard

Brooks, Alberta — The Brooks Bandits have traded 2006-born defenceman Krists Retenais and 2005-born forward Brett Calhoon to the Langley Rivermen in exchange for 2005-born defenceman Tanner Winegard.

Winegard has recorded 24 points, including six goals, in 38 games with the Rivermen this season. He was named a BCHL All Star and represented Team Canada at the event in Spruce Grove earlier this year. The 6-foot-6, 225-pound defenceman has also appeared in 90 career games in the OHL with the Windsor Spitfires.

Retenais posted 14 points in 47 games with the Bandits over the past two seasons. He also represented Team Latvia at the World Junior Championship, appearing in 10 games over the last two years. He served as an alternate captain during his last season in Brooks.

Calhoon recorded one point in 14 games with the Bandits this season. He also appeared in two games with the Red Deer Rebels of the WHL during the 2025–26 campaign.
