Bandits Name Tommy Holtby Captain For 2026-2027 Season

Brooks, Alberta – The Brooks Bandits have officially announced their leadership group for the remainder of the 2026-27 season.

20-year-old forward Tommy Holtby has been named the captain, while Zachary Deleau, Dmitrijs Dliveka, Jeremy Leroux, Rylan Hue, and Michael Kucherawy were announced as assistant captains.

Holtby, from Victor, New York, has accumulated over 170 games of junior hockey experience across his four-year career before becoming a Bandit. His resume includes 52 games in the NCDC with the Jersey Hitmen in 2023-24, followed by 41 games with the NAHL’s Maryland Black Bears, and 55 games last season with the USHL’s Sioux Falls Stampede where he captured a Clark Cup Championship as the USHL’s crowning team.

“Tommy has shown in his short time with us exactly what kind of leader he is. He has earned the respect of his teammates through the way he leads both on and off the ice, consistently setting the standard with his work ethic, character, and commitment to our group and organization,” said Head Coach Dakota Mason. “We are extremely excited for Tommy and his entire family, and we couldn’t be prouder to have him lead our team this season.”

Holtby is committed to NCAA Division I at Army (U.S Military Academy).

The four returning Bandits, Deleau, Dilevka, Hue, and Kucherawy, have combined for 235 games in a Bandits jersey. Along with Leroux’s extensive QMJHL experience and captain Holtby, the Bandits’ leadership group brings a combined 897 games of experience in the junior ranks.
