Penticton, BC (May 9, 2025)- In a game that could’ve decided the series, the Vees came from behind and defeated the Bandits by a score of 3-2 to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Bandits were unable to end the series at the SOEC and will play a game six in Brooks on Monday night as they hold a 3-2 series lead.
In the opening frame, Parker Lalonde scored on the powerplay just nine minutes into the period after he banged in his own rebound for his 12th goal of the playoffs. The Bandits outshot the Vees 14-7 in the period.
In the 2nd period, the Vees got on the scoresheet as Louie Wehmann scored his 4th of the post-season just over four minutes into the period to bring them to 1-1. With just under four minutes left in the period, Caton Ryan sent Max Heise on a breakaway and he made no mistake as he scored on the blocker side of Zach Zahara put the Vees ahead 2-1.
In the third period, Simon Meier found the back of the net just under two minutes in to extend the Vees lead to 3-1. The Bandits would get a power play just before the halfway point in the period. On the ensuing power play Mathis Dufour banged home the backdoor rebound off of a Nathan Free shot to bring the Bandits within one.
The Bandits dropped this contest 3-2 and will return to the CRA on Monday night to take on the Vees at 7 PM in game 6 of the Conference Finals.
