The Bandits defeat the Warriors 6-3 in West Kelowna

West Kelowna, BC (March 8, 2025) – Goaltender Chris Quizi won his seventh straight start, while forward Parker Lalonde scored twice as the Brooks Bandits bounced back a 6-3 win over the West Kelowna Warriors at Royal LePage Place on Saturday night.

Quizi stopped 18 shots as the Bandits went 1-1 on their BC Interior road trip, improving their record to 35-10-1-2 with six games remaining.

In the opening frame, the Bandits came out fast and after the first 13 minutes were scoreless, forward Mathis Dufour banked the puck in off the back of the Warriors goaltender, Bor Glavič, to put the Bandits ahead 1-0. Just over two minutes later on the powerplay, forward Cooper Pierson picked the top corner with a wrist shot from the left circle to double the Bandits lead. However, 40 seconds later, Warriors defenceman Axel Lofgren found twine as he got the Warriors on the board to make it a one goal game. The wild period continued moments later, as forward Luke Bibby picked up his own rebound in front of the next and moved to the right circle as he scored his 14th of the season picking the top corner on the short side to make it 3-1. With just under 40 seconds to go in the period, Warriors defenceman Philip Monnich Hagen scored his first of the season as the wrist shot hit the glove of Quizi and rolled into the back of the net.

In the middle frame, Bandits defenceman Keith McInnis scored his 11th of the season, finishing off cross-ice pass from Matej Teply to take the Bandits to a 4-2 lead. Later in the period, Bandits forward Nathan Brown dropped the gloves with Axel Lofgren in a heated tilt.

In the third period, Lalonde got the Bandits well ahead quickly as he scored just 24 seconds into the period to bring it to a 5-2 game. Just two minutes later, Jackson Kyrkostas scored his 10th of the year to keep the Warriors in the fight. The game would later be sealed as Lalonde scored his 2nd of the night on the empty-net, as that sent the Bandits on to a 6-3 win.

The Bandits have back-to-back home games next weekend, hosting the Okotoks Oilers on Friday, March 14th and Trail Smoke Eaters on Saturday, March 15th. Both games are at 7:00 pm.
