Brooks, Alberta – The Brooks Bandits are pleased to announce that forward Jack Rosensteel has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey at Niagara University and will become a member of the Purple Eagles for the 2026-27 season.
Rosensteel finished the 2025-26 season with 50 points (26g-24a) in 46 games adding another 17 points (9g-8a) in 16 playoffs games while capturing his second straight BCHL Championship with the Bandits. The 2006-born Greensburg, Pennsylvania native finished third on the team in goals, and fifth in points.
Rosensteel has suited up for 85 career regular season games, adding 32 more in the postseason, eclipsing the century mark in a Bandits’ jersey over his two-year BCHL career.
“The Brooks Bandits organization is extremely happy for Jack and his family on the announcement of his full scholarship to Niagara University starting this fall,” said Director of Hockey Operations, Wayne Labrie. “Jack’s two seasons in Brooks were each unique. His first year was one of transition under then Head Coach Ryan Papaioannou, but throughout that time he consistently demonstrated an outstanding work ethic, determination, and a willingness to be coached. Those qualities allowed Jack to grow into an important leader and a major contributor to our team success this past year under Dakota Mason. We wish Jack and his family nothing but continued success in this exciting next chapter.”
Niagara University is located in Lewiston, New York, and competes in the Atlantic Hockey America Conference (AHA) of NCAA DIV I. The Purple Eagles have made the NCAA Tournament four times, with appearances in 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2013. Their head coach, Jason Lammers has been with the program since 2017.
