Harry Ahlberg Commits to MRU – USPORTS

The Brooks Bandits are proud to announce that forward Harry Ahlberg has committed to Mount Royal University (USPORTS) and will become a member of the Cougars Men’s Hockey Program for the 2026-27 season.

Ahlberg’s first and only season in North American throughout his Junior career took place with the Bandits this past year. The Stockholm, SWE native finished fourth on the Bandits in scoring with 51 points (22g-29a) in 53 games. His offensive touch continued in the postseason placing third on the team with 19 points (6g-13a) in 20 games.

“We are extremely proud to see Harry advance to the CIS level with MRU. Harry’s transition from J20 to the BCHL was seamless, and he quickly became an impactful offensive player and leader for us each and every night. Beyond his performance on the ice, Harry was a tremendous teammate and an outstanding ambassador for our organization. We are grateful for everything he brought to our team and look forward to following his continued success moving forward,” said Director of Hockey Operations, Wayne Labrie.

Prior to making the trip to the BCHL, Ahlberg spent the prior two seasons in Sweden’s J20 Nationell ranks with AIK J20. His Bandits’ championship run featured no shortage of heroics, scoring the overtime winner in Game-4 of the Rogers Cup Final, giving the Bandits a 3-1 series lead, allowing them to win the Fred Page Cup on home ice against the Nanaimo Clippers.

Ahlberg joins his Bandits’ teammate, goaltender Zach Zahara, who recently committed to the MRU Cougars for next season.

Mount Royal University is in Calgary, AB and competes in Canada West of USPORTS.

The Brooks Bandits would like to congratulate Harry and his family on his commitment and wish him the best moving forward.
