Vernon, BC – The Brooks Bandits defeated the Vernon Vipers 7-2 to extend their win streak to nine. Four players posted multi-point outings.
Leon Bussmann scored at 6:50 to get one past his former team. Frantisek Albrecht followed up at 9:23 before Jack Good intercepted a pass behind the net and scored at 15:01. Heading into the first intermission, the score was 3-0.
Dmitrijs Dilevka scored a power play goal off a rebound from Isaac Johnson at 8:29 of the second period. Rylan Hue potted his first career BCHL goal at 15:15 off an unselfish pass from Albrecht. The game was essentially decided with a 5-0 Bandit lead heading into the third.
Dmitrii Kubantsev put the Vipers on the board on a breakaway at 11:02 of the third period before Dane Sorensen recorded his first BCHL goal at 12:18 on a wrist shot from the left circle. He was later named the third star after a multi-point game. Isaac Johnson scored another power play goal at 13:30 before Vernon’s Trockis put one past Zach Zahara with six seconds left, leaving the Bandits with a 7-2 final score.
The Bandits are back in action Friday night when they visit the Salmon Arm Silverbacks for the first of a two-game slate.
The Vipers were the only team the Bandits swept this season.
