Lalonde and Brown score as Bandits win tight Game 1

Penticton, BC (May 2, 2025) – Parker Lalonde scored his eighth of the playoffs and Zach Zahara stopped 30 shots as the Brooks Bandits won 2-1 in the opening game of the Interior Conference Finals from the South Okanagan Events Centre.

In the opening frame, the game remained scoreless as the Vees outshot the Bandits 15-8. Zach Zahara stopped 10 shots in the opening seven minutes of the game as the Bandits special teams went to work on the penalty kill.

In the second period, Parker Lalonde broke the deadlock as he opened the scoring just 41 seconds into the period to put the Bandits in front of the Vees. Later in the period, Nathan Brown got the tip from the cross ice feed in front to double the Bandits lead to 2-0 with under three minutes to go in the period.

In the final period, Callum Stone got the Vees on the board with a shot from the point that went high blocker side on Zahara with just over seven minutes to go in the period. The Bandits would close out the game with a 2-1 victory over the Vees after stopping their sustained late pressure in the period.

The Bandits are back in action for game two tomorrow night at the SOEC at 7 PM MT. You can get your tickets for game 3 & 4 on Monday and Tuesday now at tickets.brooksbandits.net.
