Bandits win 2nd exhibition game scoring 10 against the Spruce Grove Saints

September 7, 2024-  Nathan Free picked up three points, while goaltenders Johnny Hicks and Noah Tegelaar split the net in a comeback Exhibition win over the Spruce Grove Saints on Saturday at the Centennial Regional Arena.

Free picked up another three points (3A) to bring his total to six points in just the first 2 exhibition games this season.

The Saints opened up the scoring in the first period just 3:51 into the game. From then on, it was all Bandits. The Saints carried the lead into the intermission despite the strong offensive push from the opposition.

In the Second period, the Bandits completely took over the game in the first two minutes of the period with goals scored by Jack Good and Michal Liśćinsky. The Saints countered back with one themselves but then in just 7 minutes, the Bandits tallied six more goals from Evan Malkhassian, Travis Verbeek, Quinn McCall, Ty Gordon, Liam Fitzpatrick and Nick Peluso, holding the Saints to only 5 shots in the 2nd period.

The Bandits added two more goals in the 3rd period, one by Captain Ethan Beyer and the other by Michal Liśćinsky to take this game 10-2. The final shots were 37-12 Bandits.

The Bandits continue their Exhibition Schedule on Friday, September 13th, where the Okotoks Oilers will be making their way to Brooks. Puck drop is at 7 PM.
