Zahara makes 19 saves as Bandits blank Vees 3-0 in Game 2

Penticton, BC (May 3, 2025) – Zach Zahara earned his second BCHL playoff shutout and Parker Lalonde scored his second in two nights as the Brooks Bandits shutout the Penticton Vees 3-0, taking a 2-0 series lead, winning both games at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

The Bandits held the Vees to one goal over the two games in Penticton. Game 3 is Monday, May 5th at the Centennial Regional Arena in Brooks. Tickets are available brooksbandits.net.

In the opening frame, the Bandits and the Vees were scoreless for the 2nd straight night. Shots were level at 11 a piece in the period.

In the 2nd period, Vees forward Conyr Hellyer had a dangerous chance, but was robbed by a glove save by Zahara. Forward Michal Liśćinsky was high sticked and the Bandits were given a four minute power play late in the period. On the ensuing powerplay, defenceman Keith McInnis received the point pass and made no mistake as he fired the shot from the point past Penticton goaltender Ethan Buenaventura to put the Bandits ahead 1-0 with 15 seconds left in the period.

In the third period, still on the powerplay, Nick Peluso fired the on time shot from the left circle on the short side of Buenaventura’s net to double the Bandits lead to 2-0. Later in the period, Parker Lalonde would ice the game with an empty net goal to put the Bandits up 3-0 and to give the Bandits a 2-0 series lead.

The team heads back to Brooks to take on Penticton in games three and four on Monday and Tuesday, May 5th and 6th, as they will look to extend their series lead. Game times are set for 7 PM.
