Bandits sign Pittsburgh Penguins Elite 18U forward Jack Rosensteel for 2024-25 season

BROOKS, AB (March 11, 2024) – The Brooks Bandits of the BC Hockey League have announced Pittsburgh Penguins Elite 18U forward Jack Rosensteel has signed with the team for the 2024-25 season.

Rosensteel, 17, is in his first season with the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite 18U, where he’s tallied 31 points (15G, 16A) in 35 games. Last year, he scored 32 goals in 43 games at Gilmour Academy in the Prep League.

“I’m very excited to become a Brooks Bandit. I believe whole-heartedly that playing in Brooks will help me achieve my lifelong goal of playing Division 1 hockey and beyond.” said Rosensteel.

“With the coaching staff and resources, I will be able to develop into a hockey player that will prepare me for the next level. I’ll be able to embrace my offensive talent and be challenged to grow my game. The atmosphere on game day is unmatched and the support from the Brooks community will make me feel at home. Most importantly, I’m excited to continue the winning culture and chase a Championship.”

The 6’0 172lb, 2006-born forward is a native of Greensburg, PA.

“We had the pleasure of watching Jack play live a number of times and his competitive level stood out to our staff,” said Bandits Head Coach and GM, Ryan Papaioannou.

“His game is predicated on his work rate which will fit well with our current group. Jack brings a good skill set with an ability to score and upon his visit to Brooks, we were confident he will make a seamless transition to junior hockey next season.”

The Bandits are back in action when they visit the Spruce Grove Saints for back-to-back games on Friday, March 15th and Saturday, March 16th. Listen to live play-by-play on New Country 105.7 FM.

The next home game is Friday, March 22nd, when they host the Sherwood Park Crusaders.
