Bandits sign forward Cooper Pierson

BROOKS, AB – The Brooks Bandits Hockey Club has signed forward Cooper Pierson (’05), the team announced Thursday.

Pierson, 19, joins the Bandits after spending the last two seasons with the Muskegon Lumberjacks in the United States Hockey League.

“Cooper is a tremendously hard working forward with an ability to create and finish plays. He’s been a point producer throughout his career and will get considerable opportunity joining our team. Cooper is a welcome addition to our forward group,” commented Bandits’ General Manager, and Head Coach Ryan Papaioannou.

The Zionsville, IN, product had eight points (4G, 4A) in 25 games with the Lumberjacks this season. Last season, Pierson contributed 21 points (7G, 14A) to the same Lumberjack team. The 5’9, 185-pound forward represented USA in the 2023 Gretzky Hlinka Cup where he was teammates with current Bandits AJ Lacroix. Pierson is a graduate of the storied Shattuck St. Mary’s program where he spent four seasons winning multiple championships.

Pierson will wear number nine and will make his BCHL debut December 28th, when the West Kelowna Warriors visit the Bandits at the Centennial Regional Arena.
