Brooks, AB (February 21, 2025) – Keith McInnis and Cooper Pierson each scored two goals, while Dante Siciliano scored his first of the season, as the Brooks Bandits won their third straight game following a 9-2 win over the Blackfalds Bulldogs on Friday at the Centennial Regional Arena.
Goaltender Chris Quizi earned his sixth straight win for the Bandits stopping 19 of 21 shots.
In the opening frame, Bandits forward Jack Good opened the scoring with a snipe just before the halfway point. Later in the period, McInnis scored his first of two goals on the night, wristed a shot from the slot. Nicholas DiPaolo of the Bulldogs struck back with a goal to make it 2-1 just before the intermission on a power play on a goal that was reviewed to see if the puck crossed the line, which it was deemed to have.
In the second period, at the 7:35 mark, forward Parker Lalonde scored his 23rd on the season to make it 3-1 for the Bandits on a goal that was reviewed for kicking, but it stood. Just less then one minute later, forward Cooper Pierson scored his first of two, finishing off a drive to the net to extend the lead to 4-1 for the Bandits. Later in the period, Keith McInnis tallied on another to make it 5-1 with a blast on the powerplay.
In the third period, Pierson fired home his second of the night and sixth of the season to make it 6-1 on the powerplay. Just three minutes later, forward Tyler Chiovetti of the Bulldogs capitalized on a scrum in front to fire the puck into the top corner to make it 6-2. Just after the halfway point of the period, forward Jace Letourneau took a puck off that face that redirected into the back of the net to make it 7-2. At the four minute mark, forward Nathan Brown roofed a shorthanded goal off the rush to make it 8-2. Defenceman Dante Siciliano scored his first of the season to close out the 9-2 win at the CRA.
The Bandits are back at home on Saturday, February 22nd, as they host the Vernon Vipers at 7:00 pm.
