Brooks, Alberta — The Brooks Bandits defeated the Salmon Arm Silverbacks 7-4 thanks to six unanswered goals in the final frame. Harry Ahlberg had four points and Liam Fitzpatrick registered three in the high-scoring affair.
Liam Fitzpatrick started things off for the Bandits with a rocket labeled for the top left corner from the high slot. Tate O’Brien drew things even for the Silverbacks at 17:18, sending the teams into the first intermission tied.
Salmon Arm erupted in the second period. Aidan Shirey scored at 9:34 and Mateu Spath added another at 17:57 before Anthony Preskar connected with two seconds left in the period to give Salmon Arm a seemingly insurmountable 4-1 lead.
Fitzpatrick connected again at 3:58 of the third before Francois De Villiers scored a dribbler from the point that squeaked past the Silverbacks netminder. Zhukov struck at the doorstep at 6:47 to tie the game at four within seven minutes of the third period starting. Ahlberg scored one of his two goals at 11:36 before Jack Rosensteel buried one at 12:25. Ahlberg added the cherry on top at 16:31 to make the score 7-4.
Jack Good posted two assists and now is tied for the league lead with 37.
The Bandits have Sunday off before returning to action Monday at 4:00 MT against the Okotoks Oilers.
