Brooks, Alberta – Brooks Bandits head coach Dakota Mason was named an assistant coach for Team Canada at the upcoming all star event in Spruce Grove that takes place from January 16-18.
This is Mason’s first year as the bench boss taking over for Ryan Papaioannou after he became the head coach of the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL.
Brooks sit 18-9-2 under his control and are currently second in the Interior East division. Their 66 goals for at home lead the Interior Conference with the next best total being 59 (West Kelowna). On the power play, they are the best team in the BCHL by a significant margin. They currently are clicking at a 41.5% mark and have a 10.9% lead on the next best power play (Coquitlam – 30.6%).
The team will host the West Kelowna Warriors on January 3rd with puck drop being at 7:00 MT.
