Bandits Fall 5-3 To Crusaders

Brooks, Alberta – The Brooks Bandits fell 5-3 to the Sherwood Park Crusaders on Friday night at the Centennial Regional Arena. The Bandits were issued 19 minutes of penalties and it proved too hard to overcome.
Liam Fitzpatrick started things off with a beautiful goal at the 14:16 mark of the first frame and the Bandits went into the break with a 1-0 lead.
Quincy Supprien capitalized on his chance at 3:02 of the second period to tie things up. Cooper Sharp scored a little over a minute later to give the Crusaders their first lead of the game; they did not trail for the remainder of the game. Harry Ahlberg potted one from the right circle on the power play to tie things back up for the Bandits heading into the intermission.
Jude Bray put one past Zach Zahara at 3:37 of the final frame, but Alexei Zhukov buried a wrister from the left circle short side, his third such goal against the Crusaders this season. Kent Moors restored the Crusaders lead one minute later (5:43). Joseph Sinclair put another one in at 7:14 and that put the game out of reach.
The Bandits host the Coquitlam Express for the first time in franchise history Saturday night at the CRA. Puck drop is at 7:00 MT.
