Bandits Fall 5-1 to Bulldogs

Brooks, Alberta – The Brooks Bandits fell 5-1 to the Blackfalds Bulldogs Saturday at the Centennial Regional Arena. Jack Rosensteel scored the lone goal for the Bandits on a five minute major power play, but the goal did not lead to any momentum.

The Bulldogs struck first at the 3:11 mark of the first period with Luke Dahlen converting to put the Bulldogs up 1-0. Jared Langdon scored again at 6:43 to put the Bulldogs up 2-0 heading into the break.

Magnuss Avotins wasted no time in the second frame and scored at the 2:22 mark to extend the Bulldogs’ lead to three. That was the only goal in a quiet second period.

Joey Melo scored again at 6:39 of the third to make it 4-0. Jack Rosensteel converted on a backdoor goal to make it 4-1 but it wasn’t enough as Matthew Croxall scored again on an empty net to get the lead to 5-1.

If there is a positive, Bandits fans showed out posting a season high in attendance with 1508 fans.

The Bandits are back on the ice at the CRA next weekend when they host the Sherwood Park Crusaders on Friday and the Vernon Vipers on Saturday.
