Bandit’s fall 4-3 to the Warriors on Saturday evening

Brooks, AB (December 28, 2024)- The Bandits returned to the CRA after a long Christmas break to take on the West Kelowna Warriors for the first time in Brooks. The team fell to the Warriors 4-3 after a late pushback but weren’t able to claw their way back. Chris Quizi started in net for the Bandits as he just arrived to Brooks in the afternoon after being signed with the team.

In the opening period, the Warriors were off to a quick start as they were able to score off a 2 on 1 rush as Sam Ledrew buried his 12th goal of the season only 27 seconds in. Just before the halfway point, Elias Callgren doubled up the Warriors lead to 2-0. With just less than three minutes in the period, Ethan Beyer scored his sixth goal of the year.

In the middle frame, the Bandits held the Warriors to no shots until Dylan Krayer found the back of the net off a turnover with just under five minutes to play in the 2nd. The Bandits outshot the Warriors 8-2 in the period.

The final period of play had the Warriors holding a 3-1 lead until Luciano Bruno extended the lead to 4-1. The Bandits had a hint of last minute heroics as Nathan Free scored his 19th goal of the season with 2:30 to play in the period and just moments later Jace Letourneau added another as the Bandits only trailed by one late but it wasn’t enough.

The Bandits fell 4-3 to the Warriors on Saturday night. The team is back at home on January 1st to take on the Salmon Arm Silverbacks for a New Year’s Day match-up at 4 PM.
