In the second, Luke Melnik scored off a rebound from Zach Deleau to bring the Bandits within two. Isaac Johnson followed with a quick wrist shot that caught the goalie off guard. Liam Fitzpatrick added another at 14:41 shorthanded to send the game into the second intermission tied at three.
The third period was scoreless despite multiple chances from both teams.
In overtime, both teams had opportunities. Liam Fitzpatrick missed on a one-timer, and Jack Good was unable to convert on a breakaway. Francois De Villiers dove to stop a Silverbacks breakaway, resulting in a penalty shot for Salmon Arm. Lincoln Molind made a big save to keep the game alive.
Luke Mackie eventually scored on a controversial play that officials ruled was not goaltender interference. After initially signaling no goal, the referees reviewed the play and overturned the call to a goal.
