Cranbrook, BC – The Brooks Bandits fell 4-1 to the Cranbrook Bucks Tuesday night at Western Financial Place. The Bandits now lead the series 2-1 heading into tomorrow night’s rematch.
Dane Sorensen received a five-minute major for kneeing, a five-minute major for fighting, and a game misconduct just minutes into the first period. On the ensuing power play, Adam Csabi teed up a one timer from the right circle and beat Zach Zahara five hole to give the Bucks a 1-0 lead.
Kaslo Ferner scored the lone second period goal, also on the power play at 11:28, and the Bucks took a 2-0 lead to the intermission.
Mathis Dufour gave the Bandits some hope with a goal off a Tanner Winegard rebound 4:12 into the third period. Luke Melnik picked up the other helper. Despite the Bandits’ best efforts, Csabi (19:02) and Sam Lyne (19:57) both buried empty-netters to give Cranbrook their first win of the series and remain undefeated on home ice.
The Bandits will rematch the Bucks Wednesday night at 7:00 MT.
