West Kelowna, BC — The Brooks Bandits dropped a 3–1 decision to the West Kelowna Warriors on Saturday, closing out their two-game Okanagan road trip. Despite a scoreless first two periods, the game was fast-paced and evenly contested throughout. However, two quick third-period goals by the Warriors proved to be the difference, as the Bandits were unable to mount a full comeback.
Just forty seconds into the third, Noah Garthe opened the scoring to give West Kelowna a 1–0 lead. Only fourteen seconds later, Oliver Chan doubled the advantage with what would stand as the game-winning goal. The Bandits clawed back midway through the period when Jack Rosensteel finished off a smart play from Connor Paronuzzi at 9:30 to make it 2–1.
Brooks pushed hard in the final minutes and pulled their goaltender for the extra attacker, but with an empty net and a clear path to the puck, Jack Good was forced to take down Chan, resulting in an awarded goal that sealed the 3–1 result.
The Bandits will look to rebound next week when they visit the Blackfalds Bulldogs in Blackfalds. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m. MT.
