Brooks, Alberta – The Brooks Bandits fell 2-1 in double overtime to the Crusaders on Friday night.
The Bandits scored one goal from Zachary Deleau at 8:05 of the second period to take the lead on a one timer from the point and held that lead into the second intermission.
Zach Zahara was the best player in the game making 37 saves and played almost 90 consecutive minutes of nearly impeccable hockey.
Easton Schlender scored at 5:16 of the third to tie it up, and it stayed that way. The game went to overtime for the third consecutive matchup.
Throughout both overtimes, play was even. Chances were had by both teams but it ended with Brant Romaniuk scoring at 6:09 of the second overtime.
The Bandits now face elimination when they visit Sherwood Park at 5:30 on Sunday.
