Brooks, AB (April 4, 2025) – The Brooks Bandits 3rd period comeback fell two goals short as the West Kelowna Warriors took Game 1 of the 1st Round, best-of-seven series by a 4-2 score.
In the opening frame, the Bandits were outshot 8-4 as the only goal came from Warriors forward Tyler Grahme, redirecting an Axel Lofgren shot just after the halfway point of the period.
In the middle period, West Kelowna forward Elias Callgren scored just three minutes into the period to double up the Warriors lead, tapping in a backdoor pass. Just under four minutes later, Callgren potted his 2nd of the game to extend the lead to 3-0. With less then two minutes left in the period, Warriors forward Joey Macrina scored on a breakaway to make it 4-0 Warriors.
In the final period, the Bandits showed resurgence as forward Cooper Pierson scored from the right circle. Three minutes later, defenceman Dante Siciliano scored short-handed off the rush, finishing off a Davide Patella pass to get the Bandits back within two but could not complete the comeback as they fell 4-2 to the Warriors.
The Bandits are back at home tomorrow, Saturday April 5th, as they look to bounce back and level the series against West Kelowna.
