Okotoks, AB (March 29, 2025)- In the Bandits final regular season game of the 2024-25 season they went to Okotoks to take on the Oilers where they were well behind in the opening frame but a resilient Bandits team did not give up and came back to win the game 7-3 on Saturday night.
The Bandits finish the regular season with a 40-10-4record and place second in the interior conference and 2nd in the BCHL.
In the opening frame, the Oilers started off on the front foot as they opened the scoring with a goal from Jacob Goudreau just four minutes into the game. Just over two minutes later Luke Calabria got his first BCHL goal as he fired a wrist shot from the top of the slot past goaltender Chris Quizi. Near the end of the period, Joseph Meredith extended the Oilers lead to 3-0 .
In the 2nd period, Davide Patella got the Bandits on the board short handed to put the Bandits back in the game. Four minutes later, Keith McInnis ripped a shot from the blue line and it found its way through traffic as he scored his 13th of the season to bring the Bandits within one. Just 40 seconds later, Liam Fitzpatrick received the left side pass and scored from the left circle to bring the game even after the Bandits were down 3-0.
With just over six minutes left in the period, Jack Good scored his 5th goal of the season to give the Bandits their first lead of the night.
In the third period, Nick Peluso extended the Bandits lead with his 19th on the season to bring the Bandits to a 5-3 lead. Just over a minute later, Nathan Brown tapped home the loose puck in front to bring it to 6-3 in favour of the Bandits. Luke Bibby fired home the empty net goal with four minutes remaining to bring the game to 7-3 Bandits.
