Brooks, Alberta — The Brooks Bandits defeated the Cranbrook Bucks 6-2 at the Centennial Regional Arena Friday night. Francois De Villiers, Isaac Johnson, and Harry Ahlberg all posted multi-point games.
Francois De Villiers scored from the point at 6:11. Sam Lyne responded for the Bucks, tying the game 1-1 at 11:00 heading into the first intermission.
Jack Good scored his first of the playoffs, and his first since returning from injury, just 8:53 into the second period. Liam Fitzpatrick followed shortly after at 13:50 on the power play, finishing a beautiful pass from Tanner Winegard.
Adam Csabi gave the Bucks some life at 4:21 of the third before Mathis Dufour capitalized shorthanded on a great feed from Isaac Johnson at 7:21. Harry Ahlberg added his third point of the game with a goal into the top corner, and Frantisek Albrecht sealed the win with an empty-net goal at 19:16.
The Bucks and Bandits will meet again tomorrow night as the Bandits look to build on their 1-0 series lead.
