Bandits advance to the Fred Page Cup Final as they defeat the Vees

Brooks, AB (May 16, 2025)- Jack Good scored a stunner in the 3rd period that ended the Penticton Vees season as the Brooks Bandits defeated the Vees 3-1 on Monday night and 4-2 in the series to advance to the Fred Page Cup Final.

Zach Zahara made 24 saves as he secured another victory between the pipes.

In the opening frame, Keith McInnis scored halfway through the period on a one timer from the right circle on the powerplay to put the Bandits ahead 1-0. Later in the frame, Davide Patella had a breakaway where the puck crossed the goal line but the net got dislodged so the call on the ice was no-goal after a lengthy review.

In the 2nd period, it took the Vees only 13 seconds into the period to get one back as Caton Ryan scored his 6th of the post season to level the game. The Bandits were outshooting the Vees 29-10 after two periods of play.

In the third frame, Jack Good went 1 on 4 as he fired home the wrist shot from the high slot and put the puck past the blocker of Buenaventura to put the Bandits back in front. Parker Lalonde would ice the game with an empty net goal that sent the Vees out of the BCHL playoffs.

The Brooks Bandits will play in their first ever Fred Page Cup Final against the Chilliwack Chiefs. Dates and tickets to be announced.
