The Brooks Bandits update on recently acquired 2007-born forward Koby Francis, along with future considerations, from the Chilliwack Chiefs in exchange for the BCHL rights to 2006-born goaltender Noah Tegelaar.
Francis, a native of Gatineau, QC, was a point-per-game player as a BCHL rookie last season with the Chiefs, registering 6 goals and 17 assists for 23 points in 23 games.
“We’re excited Koby will be reporting to training camp next week. We have added a proven forward with scoring ability to our lineup,” said Bandits General Manager Wayne Labrie. “Koby brings size, skill, and BCHL experience, and we believe he will be a strong addition to our forward group.”
The 6’2”, 181-lb winger began last season in the QMJHL with the Chicoutimi Saguenéens, recording six points in 28 games before joining Chilliwack.
Tegelaar did not make a start in net for the Bandits. The Georgetown, ON native has appeared in 21 career OHL games, along with 33 games in the NOJHL and 30 in the OJHL.
Bandits look forward to Koby arriving for Main Camp which starts Friday September 4th at the Centennial Regional Arena.
