Bandits Acquire BCHL Rights for Joey Sinclair From Sherwood Park

Brooks, Alberta — The Brooks Bandits have acquired the BCHL rights to 2007-born forward Joey Sinclair from the Sherwood Park Crusaders in exchange for defenceman Lazarus Ebanoidze.

Sinclair is currently playing with the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL and is committed to Bowling Green State University (NCAA Division I).

“With the abundance of 20-year-old players on our roster, we knew at some point we were going to have to make a difficult decision with our group,” said General Manager Wayne Labrie. “When the opportunity to acquire Joey’s BCHL rights became available, we felt it was simply too good to pass up. Joey is a talented offensive player with BCHL experience, skill, hockey sense and the ability to produce, a potential excellent fit for our program.”

Sinclair posted 60 points, including 24 goals, in just 54 games with the Crusaders last season, earning BCHL All-Star honours.

The Brooks Bandits would also like to recognize Lazarus for his contributions to our organization. Lazarus was an important member of last season’s BCHL Championship team, competing hard for our group throughout the year and playing a key role for us.

We thank Lazarus for his commitment to the Bandits organization, his teammates and the Brooks community, and wish him continued success with the Sherwood Park Crusaders.
